Announcing the Rock Your Writing Career Mentoring Program

“There’s nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at the typewriter and open a vein.”      — Red Smith

Most writers I know learn the business of writing piecemeal.  They pull together information in a kind of trial-and-error process, wading through the volumes of contradictory and confusing information that’s available out there, hoping to find those nuggets of truth that can take them one step further down the path toward success.

Many never make it.  Many find themselves trapped in an endless cycle of rejections and self-doubt, unable to move forward because the latest rejection letter doesn’t say anything more than “Sorry, not for us.”  They want to do better, they want to improve their writing, but without knowing what the problem is, they can’t really do anything to fix whatever’s wrong.

Others might get themselves off to a good start, but eventually find themselves hampered due to poorly negotiated contract terms or the lack of attention most publishing houses give debut authors.

Maybe you know what I’m talking about.  Maybe you’ve been there yourself.

Now imagine how different things might be if you had the chance to work directly with an internationally bestselling writer devoted to helping you advance your writing career.  Someone who can offer the wisdom of their hard-won experience.  Someone who can help you hone and temper your writing skills to a razor-sharp edge.  Someone who can steer you away from the many pitfalls and mistakes that can waste your time, energy, and talent – while encouraging you to pursue your dream.

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

Announcing the Rock Your Writing Career Mentoring Program, a one-of-a-kind year long mentoring experience in which five authors will have the opportunity to work directly with me, that internationally bestselling writer and creativity coach I mentioned earlier, to help bring them closer to achieving their writing goals.

What the program includes:

·         Biweekly, one hour, personal coaching calls all year long – 26 in all!

·         Assessment and evaluation of your current strengths and weaknesses as a writer

·         Identification and development of a specific writing goal that you will pursue together with your mentor during the year-long process

·         Creation of a written plan, complete with milestones and deadlines, that you will follow while working with your mentor to bring you closer to your writing goal

·         Editorial assessment and evaluation of manuscripts and proposals produced during your mentoring year

·         Strategic planning and post-action assessment of all editorial submissions and responses to ensure you get the most out of your efforts

Since I started my writing career in 2001, I’ve sold nineteen novels to major publishers in six different countries, most often on nothing more than a proposal.  I’ve had my work adapted to comics, recorded as full-cast audio narratives, and optioned for feature film production.  I’ve represented myself in negotiations for both domestic and foreign publication.  More importantly, I’ve taught dozens of other writers how to do the same, working as a coach and writing instructor during the last six years.

Starting next month, I’m going to make room in my schedule to individually work one-on-one with five writers who want to take their careers to the next level.  No matter your level of experience, no matter your publication history, I’m confident that by the end of our twelve months together you’ll improve your storytelling skills and expand your opportunities as a working writer.

Are you ready to take that step?

There are just five slots available.  The fee for the program is $2,000.00, payable in four quarterly installments of $500.00 each.

With coaching costing $150.00 an hour and up, you could pay $3,900.00 for just the phone calls alone!  This program gives you so much more, however.  That makes this a tremendous deal for the writer who’s willing to put their butt in the chair and do the work necessary to become the writer they want to be.  If you’ve got the drive and desire to do it, I’m committed to helping you get there using everything I’ve learned in more than a decade in this difficult business.
