A little something special for Leap Day…the cover art to the next Templar Chronicles novel. (Art by Lou Harper)
I’m extremely pleased to note that Midian Unmade: Tales of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed, the horror anthology that I co-edited with Del Howison, has been nominated by the members of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) for the Bram Stoker Award.
This is my third time being nominated so let’s hope three’s the charm! (The first was for my debut novel Riverwatch and the second was for non-fiction for the blog I founded, Storytellersunplugged.)

FALL OF NIGHT
New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Joseph Nassise continues his internationally bestselling Templar Chronicles series with Fall of Night!
At long last former Knight Commander Cade Williams has defeated the Adversary, but his victory has come at a terrible cost. His wife, Gabrielle, is no more. His reputation lies in tatters, his trust in others broken. His closest friends and allies are now at risk from the very Order they pledged their lives to maintain. If it could go wrong, it has.
Unable to bear the reality of what he has done, all Cade wants to do is find a deep hole and pull it in after him. Let the world go on without him, for all he loves is lost and he sees no reason to continue.
Cade thinks it is over.
Cade is wrong.

Who is Matthew Caine?
Well, he’s me, Or at least half of him is. The other half is my good friend and collaborator, Steven Savile. We’ve gotten together to produce a three book epic fantasy series known as the Aspect Cycle and we’re putting it out under the pseudonym Matthew Caine.
Book one, Ghosts of the Conquered, is nearly 500 pages in length and will be available starting May 27th in the Epic Fantasy Bundle from Storybundle.com. It will then be available at all the usual vendors, starting with the Nook First program at Barnes & Noble.
Book two, The Swords of Scorn, will follow right on the heels of the first, launching in late June/early July.
Some heroes live by the sword.
Some heroes die by the sword.
Some have no idea they are heroes, they are just fighting to stay alive…
Kane used to be a hero. He was one of the Del Carpio, an honor-bound wanderer committed to keeping the peace in troubled times. He has lived his life as a protector of the weak and vulnerable. Now he doesn’t know what he is. His world has been shattered. His sword brothers are dead, butchered at the funeral of the order’s founder. Kane is the last man standing and he hates himself because he isn’t dead alongside them. There is honor in death, there is no honor in survival because instead of mourning at the graveside he chose to wallow in self-pity and the bottle and it saved his life. There must have been a traitor in their number. That’s the only way it could have happened. But who? And why?
Jenn is the Beggar King’s puppet. She used to be a warrior, a Del Carpio like Kane, until with one stupid mistake she damned herself. Now she doesn’t even recognise herself or the things she is capable of. She used to be a good person. So why is she breaking into a child’s bedroom to commit murder?
Swann, the White Feather, is a legend. He’s also a marked man. The Steel Man, the underworld kingpin, wants him dead and has initiated The Game of Dominion to see that it happens. The Game is a cull to weed out the weak and the old. Everyone is a target, no recriminations. Swann, though, has a gift for staying alive. Which might be a problem for the Steel Man.
This is the story of two soliders beaten down by the madness of war, trying to make their way home. This is the story of two sorcerers, one driven mad by the demands of raising the dead the other absolutely rational in his hatred for mankind and his quest for a lost magic.
This is the story of mad gods and beggar kings.
This is the story of the Ghosts of the Conquered..
Visit Storybundle.com on May 27th to get Ghosts of the Conquered before its available anywhere else!
Still trying to get life under control over here post auto accident so I’ve gone ahead and made the difficult decision to cancel the pre-order release of Fall of Night on Amazon.com. I know this will be a pain in the ass for some of my customers, but the last thing I wanted to do was release a book rushed into production when things are so hectic on this end. In the long run, this will be the better option.
Fall of Night will be coming before the end of this month – that I guarantee.
Thanks for bearing with me and for understanding!
Judgment Day is here!
The long-awaited fifth book in the Templar Chronicles is now available at the usual ebook retailers, with a paperback edition to follow by the end of the month. This book picks up right where Infernal Games left off and answers quite a few questions that have arisen up to this point in the series. Here’s the cover art and jacket copy…
Cade Williams’ worst nightmare has come true. The Necromancer’s black magick has not only released the Adversary from the infernal realms where Cade imprisoned it, but allowed the fallen angel to possess the body of Cade’s beloved wife, Gabrielle, in the process. When the Templars interrupt the ritual and kill the Necromancer, the Adversary sprouts wings and escapes into the darkness.
Branded a traitor by the Templars for his cooperation with the sorcerer, willing or not, Cade finds himself hunted by his former allies as an enemy of the Order while working feverishly to track down the Adversary and rescue his wife from the vile creature’s control. It is almost too much for the weary Echo Team commander to handle.
Just when he thinks things can’t get any worse, he makes contact with a creature known as the Forsaken One and discovers answers to the questions that have haunted him since the Adversary first appeared in his life. Answers that may ultimately cost him more than he ever imagined.
