Coaching

“The world’s greatest achievers have been those who have always stayed focused on their goals and have been consistent in their efforts.”

Writing can be a lonely and frustrating business. Finding the time to pursue your creativity, breaking through that seemingly endless wall of rejection, and staying focused on a particular project are just some of the issues that plague writers daily. Sometimes you need someone to motivate and encourage you to be the best that you can be. Working with a successful novelist who is also trained as a coach can move your writing to that next level and shatter some of the roadblocks currently standing in your way.

Just as in sports, a writing coach can help you bring your best “game” to the table each and every time you sit down to write.

If you want to:

  • explore what you can achieve with your writing
  • bring more focus and motivation to your current project
  • discover strategies to remove obstacles and barriers impeding your writing progress
  • learn how to deal with rejection
  • develop a specific project or work on a specific skill set to take your already successful writing career to a new level
  • balance writing with the rest of your life

..then working with a writing coach might be for you.

How Coaching Works

We’ll meet via telephone on a regular schedule, either 2, 3 or 4 times per month. During our calls we will focus on your progress, identify any roadblocks or challenges you may be facing, and develop a plan to keep you moving ahead. Your goals are my priority and I’ll share my experience, advice, and tools to help you get to where you want to be. Before the end of the call we’ll agree on what steps you are to take between sessions to move you forward toward your goal.

Why work with me?

I’m a New York Times and USA Today bestselling novelist with more than thirty books to my credit. My work has been translated into several languages, optioned for feature film production, adapted into comic book form, and been nominated for both the Bram Stoker Award and the International Horror Guild Award. I’m also a former president of the Horror Writers Association, the world’s largest organization of professional horror writers.

In short, I understand how to write and sell both fiction and non-fiction.

I’m also a trained life/creativity coach through the Institute of Life Coaching and have worked with clients over the last several years to help them achieve their goals and dreams. Not only do I understand writing and publishing, but I know from experience how to motivate others to break through the barriers that confront them and succeed in this difficult industry.
