Operation Shambling Tide

For the last several weeks I've been working on my first LitRPG novel entitled Operation Shambling Tide. It is set in my Great Undead War universe but features different characters than those in the main trilogy.

Here's the back cover copy and the cover art:

When the IED exploded, Staff Sergeant Solomon Drake thought his war was over. He was wrong. It was just beginning.

Bleeding out in Afghanistan, Drake awakens in a field hospital tent that reeks of carbolic acid and death—but the year is 1918, and this isn't the war he remembers. The trenches of France stretch endlessly before him, and something far worse than German artillery waits in No Man's Land.

The dead are walking.

Reanimated by chemical weapons and controlled by electronic collars, shambling corpses in tattered uniforms advance across the scarred battlefield. Every fallen soldier becomes another weapon for the enemy. Every casualty potentially rises to attack his former comrades. And Drake—armed with nothing but a bolt-action rifle and a mysterious heads-up display that shouldn't exist in 1918—must learn to survive in a war where death is just the beginning.

In this gritty LitRPG mashup of World War I horror and military adventure:

·       A modern soldier must adapt to primitive weapons and trench warfare tactics

·       Game-like progression mechanics meet historical military action

·       The horror of the Western Front collides with steampunk technology and the undead

·       Every battle is a desperate fight for survival against an enemy that refuses to stay dead

From the mud-filled trenches to the corpse-strewn wasteland of No Man's Land, Drake must master this nightmare world's brutal rules—or become just another shambler in the enemy's endless ranks.

Perfect for fans of military LitRPG, alternate history, and zombie apocalypse fiction who crave authentic combat scenes and a protagonist who fights with both modern knowledge and World War I grit.

The Great Undead War has no rules. No mercy. And no guarantee you'll stay dead if that bullet hits its mark.

It should go up for preorder shortly and I'm looking at a late February release date.
